Necrotizing fasciitis is an orthopedic emergency. The ability to quickly and accurately diagnose this rapidly spreading disease can save a patient's life and limb. However, the diagnosis is complex because necrotizing fasciitis usually manifests as a less severe cellulitis or abscess while the majority of the damage rages beneath the surface of the skin. Deep muscular necrosis is often masked by a normal-looking overlying tissue bed. The potential causes and vectors, or carriers, continually change. It is the inflammation of the band of tissue that connects your calf muscles to your heel bone - your Achilles tendon. Achilles tendinitis will cause pain the back of your leg and in your heel especially after practice or a competition. You may also experience tenderness, mild swelling and stiffness. Your lower leg may also appear weak or sluggish. Treatments for Achilles tendinitis include rest, ice, compression and elevation as a means of self care. This often means it is time for a new pair of shoes. Wearing shoes that are too snug or that cause points of pressure and friction on the foot will eventually result in a foot corn developing. Sometimes podiatrists choose to apply a chemical peel to callus foot tissue. This chemical peel is designed to soften the callus foot tissue before the surgical process of debridement. Callus tissue on the foot tends to be harder and thicker than callus tissue on other parts of the body. So can dry climates or environments, ill-fitting shoes that are too tight, standing for long periods of time (especially if overweight) and continual long-term inattention to the problem. Start by soaking your feet in some warm to medium hot water with epsom salt or other natural foot soaking product that will help soften your feet. Use a foot skin moisturizer every day Moisturize your skin everyday specially those hardened and dry area to prevent you from having calluses. Soothing lotions with Aloe or Vitamin E will help in faster and effective removal of your calluses. You can also do this once done with your do-it-yourself home foot spa. A healthy foot free from calluses provides you comfort in your daily activities. Removing them before they become worse is necessary. Although there are home remedies for this skin problem, you still need to consult your podiatrist for severe foot skin problem. It is better to be safe than try something that can harm your health. A foot corn is an area of hard, thickened skin on the foot that is formed in response to pressure or friction.
